Hall of Fame decisions by the MSCI leadership 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: -1
Hi everyone,

I was wondering what the deal is with the Hall of Fame for MSCI. Is this a Hall of Fame for contributions to only MSCI or to the state in general.

I was recently nominated to the Hall of Fame but was denied even though I have a significant if not substantial record of accomplishment in Michigan and nationally. I seem to have met all the criteria for nomination but did not get in for some reason.

Anyone have any insight on this topic. It would be most welcome.

Just a quick follow up on this topic. I contacted Dave Bassett and he has not responded to my query. I also sent it to several members of the MSCI Board with only one response from Kirstin Carolin referring me to Dave.

I met all the criteria for inclusion and my credentials go far beyond them but I guess it has to be unanimous. Seems funny that others have gotten in with far less success and participation than me. I guess that is just how it goes.

The names of nominees were submitted, without the nominee's knowledge, by members of the organization.

Says that on the page that describes the process.

Also this:
...election into the HoF had to be unanimous by the officers of MSCA.

and this:
Not all nominees were elected on their first nomination.

Seems like any of those things might explain the results of your disappointment. I'd guess getting mad at the board would worsen your future chances of being honored by this organization. I don't serve in an official capacity of MSCI any longer, but I'm just sayin...

I'm not really caring too much about my future chances of being honored by this questionable organization. Just wanting people to see the true colors of the people that run it and run it and run it because it seems to be mostly the same people rotating in and out each and every year.

MIFA or MSCI- who can tell the difference- same people- same games behind closed doors

Oh, and seeing the small number of posts on this forum- I don't think MSCI is really much of a force in the speech and debate world except for the Mackinac event.

Randy, when did I ever impugn your integrity? I see why and how you bring such negativity to the table whenever you show up. You just love to hate.

I'll give you a couple more chances to tell the world how evil I am and how evil MIFA is and how evil MSCI is and then I might even get upset. In the meantime, it just seems so little. I mean it's not like it's a million dollar outfit, or you are exercising a military coup of even a little country. It's just little. A man of your integrity should be bigger.
