Dear Members of the Michigan Speech, Theatre and Debate Community,
You are receiving this information because you understand and appreciate the promotion of speech activities in the State of Michigan. My name is Charlie Rinehart and I am the 2017 president of Michigan Speech Coaches, Inc. MSCI is an organization dedicated to the continual growth and development of speech activities in the State of Michigan. MSCI works to facilitate activities for this community.
One of the activities is a speech tournament and conference held annually at the historic Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. The event is a weekend dedicated to celebrating speech and recognize the accomplishments of students and teachers within the state. This year, that event will be held on the weekend of May 19-21.
If you routinely come to this conference, you are aware of the awesome talent showcased by students, the immense passion coming from coaches and the wondrous beauty on display in one of Michigan’s most celebrated gems, the Grand Hotel. If you have never joined us, please considering making this year your first. If you have not been back for a few years, please considering rejoining us.
All tournament and conference information can be found on the attached invitation. A registration form is also attached for your convenience. This year’s GUEST OF HONOR will be Ray Quiel, from Eastern Michigan University.
If you have any concerns or questions, please reach out to me. I look forward to seeing you up on the island. Thank you for all you do for the speech community.
Sincerely, Charlie Rinehart President, Michigan Speech Coaches, Inc.
